A great FSRC Sponsored 23rd Annual Florida Respiratory Care Tradition was held at the Radisson Resort, Port Canaveral last week! Attended by over 100 Respiratory Therapists, Industry Supporters, and Students. A wonderful time of new clinical information and tools shared, along with fellowship and fun were enjoyed by both attendees and supporting cast of sponsor vendors.
Thursday highlights included timely and engaging presentations by Dave Henry, RRT about Patient Challenges with both Asthma and Sleep Apnea, Gene Fordyce, RRT, Clinical Specialist, sponsored by Philips, sharing great updates and videos on COPD Readmissions Reduction from across the nation.
Great talks by David Thompson, RRT, and Bob Sobkowiak, RRT, shared the success and opportunities for COPD Community and Florida Statewide initiatives with the COPD Foundation and COPD Breathe Strong Florida Team. Wonderful discussion and sharing from a wonderful engaged audience of RTs from throughout Florida!
Friday sessions included timely and engaging talks covering Emergency CPR, Current Airway Clearance sharing the importance of new approaches to secretion clearance by Doug Pursley, sponsored by DR Burton. Joe Helme, MS, RRT, Program Director of Eastern Florida State College helped all understand not only the functional hand anatomical challenges of maintaining a difficult airway, but the participants left with a pride of the opportunity to be a Respiratory Therapist, with the skill and opportunity to provide this vital aspect of care.
