An alumnus and adjunct professor at the University of Central Florida, Tom earned his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree, he went on to earn his Doctor of Health Science degree from Nova Southeastern University. Tom served as a Navy Corpsman for seven years prior to his educational track and before joining the team at AdventHealth.

Tom was a highly decorated clinician, professional, and leader. He was the main catalyst in revolutionizing the Respiratory Care profession, locally and nationally. Dr Tom Berlin founded the “Central Florida Asthma Consortium” in 2000, and “Open Airways for Schools Program” in 1997. Tom fulfilled his mission as a Respiratory Care advocate and health care leader and was celebrated for 40 years of dedicated service at AdventHealth Central Florida Division, where he led and fostered the development of over 600 active Respiratory Therapists; positively impacting the Central Florida community.

Tom’s legacy as a servant leader reflected his faith, love, and obedience to his God.  Joshua 1:9 – “This is my command – be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
